vivo V5 sports a 5.5-inch HD display and 20MP selfie camera, yours for Rs 17,980

vivo has launched its latest flagship Android smartphone in India called the V5. The biggest highlight of vivo’s latest offering is its 20-megapixel selfie camera, which the brand is touting as a first for a smartphone. The phone also gets a front-facing LED which the brand is calling ‘Moonlight Glow’. However, instead of lighting up only when you take a selfie, the LED functions like a front-facing torch that remains on until you manually turn it off.
Coming to the other specs, the vivo V5 sports a 5.5-inch (13.97cm) HD display with a layer of 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass, encased in an all-metal body. The phone is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor, mated to beefy 4GB of RAM. The storage capacity on board is 32GB, which can be further increased up to 128GB by inserting a microSD card. Software-wise, it boots Funtouch OS 2.5 based on Android Marshmallow.
At the rear, the vivo V5 features a 13-megapixel camera, assisted by an LED flash. In terms of connectivity, the phone offers dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with GLONASS, and USB OTG. A 3,000mAh battery keeps the whole package running. The phone also comes with a fingerprint sensor and Hi-Fi sound featuring an AK4376 audio chipset.
The vivo V5 has been priced at Rs 17,980, and will be available via major brick-and-mortar retail stores across the country starting from November 26th in Crown Gold and Space Grey hues. The company has also announced that it will be launching the vivo V5 Plus in the country soon.
